Real Help from Someone Who Gets It

Dr. Doug Campbell is a registered psychologist with over 20 years of experience working with police, military, and other first responders. Having served in the military himself, Doug understands the unique pressures, culture, and sense of duty that come with serving others. He knows that asking for help isn’t easy — and that’s exactly why he’s made it his life’s work to make that step feel safe and straightforward.

Dr. Doug Campbell is a clinical psychologist who has been in practice since 2002, with extensive experience working with police officers, military members, veterans, and other first responders.

Dr. Campbell completed his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at Indiana State University, followed by a residency at the Detroit Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where he worked with combat veterans experiencing a range of trauma-related and mental health concerns.

From 2002 to 2007, Dr. Campbell served as a psychologist and commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force, including deployment to the Middle East as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After completing his military service, he became a dual citizen and relocated to Toronto with his Canadian wife, establishing a private practice focused on trauma and operational stress injuries among veterans and first responders.

From 2019 to 2025, Dr. Campbell served as a staff psychologist with the Toronto Police Service (TPS), providing clinical services, consultation, and training for frontline officers in addition to specialized units. He worked extensively with members of the Public Order Unit and other operational teams, supporting psychological resilience and well-being. Dr. Campbell also contributed to modernized training initiatives emphasizing communication, de-escalation, and mental readiness. He has since returned to full-time private practice, continuing his commitment to supporting first responders, veterans, and others affected by trauma and cumulative stress.
